If I asked you why are you out of shape, would you know why? Would you give me the truth or lie like a politician? Would you do something about it after our conversation, or would you walk away saying, "yeah, I know," making it seem like you're about to take action when we both know you are going home to sit on your butt?
Even better, maybe you're one of those people who say I need motivation. "Yeah," that's it your LACKING MOTIVATION, that's the real problem. The fact that you're out of breath going up the stairs at work, can't fit into your clothes and have excess body fat isn't motivation enough to start doing something about it.
If any of those aren't your reason, then I take it your one of those people who say, "I DON'T HAVE TIME" If you're reading this and that's your reason, I want you to know that I get it. You are 100% right, I mean it's not like you have 24 hours in a day like everyone else. You have limited time, so it's IMPOSSIBLE for you to make it to the gym.
WAIT, what's that? You've heard this before, and your situation is different because you have a hectic schedule and have a lot on your plate? OH OKAY, yeah, that's not an excuse to you because you're busy and nobody else in this world is as active as you, so you have a solid reason. Okay, good point, thanks for sharing.
Excuse my sarcasm and language, but all of that is bullshit to me, but before you go crazy, let me explain why. Now you may have a busy schedule, but you choose what you want to make time for, so in the end, that was a choice you decided on. You can't add more hours to the day, but you can manage your time wisely and or cut back but not eliminate what you have going on. You need to stop making excuses and get it done, that means going to the gym early in the morning, midday in between school and work, or going at night, after all, is done then that's what you have to do.
Whatever the reason or excuse may be, keep in mind that there is someone else in this world going through the same situation and possibly more and is making it work. The difference is that they are willing to sacrifice, and you aren't. I hate to be so harsh on you, but someone has to be because you're letting yourself down, and that isn't going to cut it because your health is essential. You can't be there for your kids anymore if your life ended short because you didn't take your well being severe enough. Did that strike a nerve? In case it didn't because you don't have kids. Let's replace children with your mom and dad. How about your wife or husband? Grandma and grandpa or your uncle and auntie. Maybe Your close friend from childhood, high school, or college that needs you. I could be here all day naming that special someone that you revolve your life around. The bottom line is YOU CAN'T HELP ANYONE UNTIL YOU HELP YOURSELF.
If I've made you feel inferior, shame, sad, or just angry, that wasn't my intent. My intent is to wake you up as to the reasons why you're out of shape. If your issue isn't the gym aspect but more so the nutrition, then my response to you is that it's all the same.
Look, I don't need to tell you what you already know, but sometimes we need to hear it. Now that we've discussed what may be your excuses, let's dive into actual reasons why you're out of shape.
Here's a quick message for those of you that have a gym membership with many locations leading from home to work and still don't go. This distance can not get any damn easier for you. You have way too many options to make excuses. If you have a gym near your job, then bring clothes in the morning and take your ass there even if you prefer the location near your home so that you can be closer to home when you're done. Still, go to the location near your job because once you get near your apartment, you'll just conjure up some reason to head home. If you don't, then great, but packing your gym clothes is a must because the chances of you walking back out of your place to workout is like putting cookies and milk in front of Santa Claus, expecting him not to eat it. Hopefully, he starts going to the gym as well.
Now that we have discussed the four reasons why you're out of shape. I hope this gives you some inspiration to start or restart the journey. We all go through our difficult times and have a ton of activities and work to get done, but we will always make time for what we want. There isn't an excuse in the world that will keep you back from at least trying to achieve something you truly desire. So dig deep as to why these goals are important to you and hold them close because these are what will help you fight to pass the challenging moments.
